Book Proposal Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>4.1 Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rupkatha Books welcomes proposals for original, high-quality scholarly publications that make significant contributions to research, teaching, public knowledge, and interdisciplinary scholarship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.2 Proposal Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A complete proposal should normally include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a completed Book Proposal Form;<\/li>\n<li>a concise overview describing the aims, originality, scholarly contribution, and intended readership of the proposed publication;<\/li>\n<li>a detailed table of contents with chapter summaries;<\/li>\n<li>one or more representative sample chapters or, where available, the complete manuscript;<\/li>\n<li>brief biographies of the author(s) or editor(s), including institutional affiliations and ORCID iDs where available;<\/li>\n<li>information regarding the anticipated scholarly impact of the publication; and<\/li>\n<li>details of any research funding, institutional support, or collaborative partnerships relevant to the project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional documentation may be requested where necessary to facilitate editorial evaluation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.3 Originality<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Proposals must represent original scholarly work.<\/p>\n<p>Authors should disclose whether:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>any part of the work has been published previously;<\/li>\n<li>related versions are under consideration elsewhere;<\/li>\n<li>the project is based on a thesis or dissertation;<\/li>\n<li>preprints or earlier editions exist; or<\/li>\n<li>significant AI-assisted content has been used in preparing the manuscript.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Such disclosures enable a fair and transparent editorial evaluation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.4 Evaluation Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Book proposals are evaluated on the basis of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>originality and intellectual contribution;<\/li>\n<li>scholarly quality and methodological rigour;<\/li>\n<li>significance for the discipline or interdisciplinary field;<\/li>\n<li>engagement with current scholarship;<\/li>\n<li>ethical compliance;<\/li>\n<li>clarity of organisation and presentation;<\/li>\n<li>suitability for digital publication;<\/li>\n<li>international relevance and readership; and<\/li>\n<li>potential contribution to Open Access scholarship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Editorial decisions are based exclusively on academic merit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.5 Editorial Evaluation Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Book proposals normally proceed through the following stages:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>administrative review for completeness;<\/li>\n<li>preliminary editorial assessment;<\/li>\n<li>external expert review where appropriate;<\/li>\n<li>Editorial Board evaluation; and<\/li>\n<li>communication of the editorial decision.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The publisher endeavours to complete evaluations within a reasonable timeframe while maintaining rigorous scholarly standards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.6 Editorial Decisions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following evaluation, a proposal may be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>accepted in principle;<\/li>\n<li>accepted subject to revision;<\/li>\n<li>invited for resubmission following substantial revision; or<\/li>\n<li>declined.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Acceptance of a proposal indicates that the project is suitable for further development.
