Publication Charges Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>5.1 Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rupkatha Books is committed to a publishing model that is transparent, equitable, sustainable, and independent. Where publication charges apply, they support the editorial, production, technological, and preservation infrastructure required to publish high-quality born-digital Open Access books.<\/p>\n<p>The ability to pay shall never influence editorial decisions. All editorial assessments, peer review, and publication decisions are conducted independently of financial considerations.<\/p>\n<p>This policy should be read together with the Open Access Policy, Editorial and Peer Review Policy, and Copyright and Licensing Policy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.2 Sustainable Open Access Publishing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rupkatha Books operates a sustainable Open Access publishing programme supported through a combination of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Book Processing Charges (BPCs), where applicable;<\/li>\n<li>institutional publishing agreements;<\/li>\n<li>university partnerships;<\/li>\n<li>research grants;<\/li>\n<li>library-supported publishing initiatives;<\/li>\n<li>scholarly societies;<\/li>\n<li>governmental and international funding programmes; and<\/li>\n<li>strategic publishing partnerships.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The publisher continually explores innovative and community-supported publishing models that reduce financial barriers while ensuring the long-term sustainability of Open Access scholarly publishing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.3 Book Processing Charges<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Where applicable, a Book Processing Charge (BPC) contributes to services that may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>editorial administration;<\/li>\n<li>peer-review management;<\/li>\n<li>copy-editing and proofreading;<\/li>\n<li>language editing where required;<\/li>\n<li>professional typesetting and layout;<\/li>\n<li>cover design;<\/li>\n<li>digital accessibility enhancement;<\/li>\n<li>metadata creation and registration;<\/li>\n<li>DOI and ISBN registration;<\/li>\n<li>website publication and hosting;<\/li>\n<li>indexing and discoverability;<\/li>\n<li>long-term digital preservation;<\/li>\n<li>repository deposit; and<\/li>\n<li>global dissemination and promotion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The amount of any applicable BPC depends on the scope, complexity, and production requirements of the publication and is communicated transparently before a Publishing Agreement is signed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.4 No Submission or Review Fees<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rupkatha Books does not charge for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>submission of book proposals;<\/li>\n<li>preliminary editorial assessment;<\/li>\n<li>peer review;<\/li>\n<li>editorial evaluation; or<\/li>\n<li>consideration for publication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Publication charges, where applicable, arise only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication and the parties have entered into a formal Publishing Agreement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.5 Waivers <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rupkatha Books recognises that access to research funding varies significantly across institutions and countries. To promote equitable participation in scholarly publishing, the publisher may offer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>full or partial fee waivers;<\/li>\n<li>discounts for eligible authors;<\/li>\n<li>institutional publishing agreements;<\/li>\n<li>grant-supported publication opportunities; and<\/li>\n<li>other forms of financial assistance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Waiver requests are assessed independently of editorial evaluation and shall have no influence on publication decisions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.6 Funding Disclosure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Authors should disclose all relevant sources of research or publication funding, including grants, institutional support, sponsorships, collaborative agreements, or other financial assistance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>5.1 Purpose Rupkatha Books is committed to a publishing model that is transparent, equitable, sustainable, and independent.
